3d printed lamp kit idea
3d printed leg hub idea
I am going to try to design a printable hub that I could screw pipes(etc.) into in order to make this lamp in a different way. If I could make lamps this way, I could make them into kits, with 2 hubs and 9 pipes. I suppose I would have to have a lampshade part too, but i've already seen that the lampshade part of this exists on thingiverse. I'm not sure what i'd do for the bottom board, though maybe i could just make 4 holes, or maybe I could have plastic feet with screw holes, and also plastic top pieces to hold in the lmapshade. The piece in this drawing would be the bottom, for the legs, the top would have to have another tube on top.

"we had some kreg screws, we put some stain on it, it was tricky to drill the hole through the middle because we didn't have a drill press, and even if we had one it wouldn't have worked because the board had to be exactly parallel to the drill bit. We came up with geometric trick of some kind. So we made a drill guide clamped to a workbench, then eyballed it. togos was holding a ruler in front of him to make sure the drill bit was part of the board. we didn't think it was possible, but then we did it."
